Chocolate Maple Pecan Croissant

Chocolate Maple Pecan Croissant

Set your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.  Serves 1 or 2.  Very rich pastry.  Cook time 20 minutes.  Prep time 5-10 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • Half a roll of croissant pastry (or make your own)
  • 1 small milk chocolate bar (or dark)
  • egg white (from 1 egg or less)
  • 1 small handful of chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp of maple syrup

Directions: 

Roll out the pastry thin into an oblong shape on a floured surface.

 Place the chocolate bar in the middle of the pastry and cut along the edges of the pastry outside the chocolate bar.

 Wrap the pastry around the bar of chocolate and pinch together in the middle.

 Glaze with the egg white.  Use only enough for a thin layer of egg white.  Sprinkle the pecans over the entire body of the pastry and drizzle the maple syrup over it.

 Place in a well oiled pan that has at least a half inch on the sides to prevent any drippings in the oven.  Enjoy!
